Terms of service

Short version: All Aravind Labs sites and tools are provided as-is, no warranty. Use them for any legal purpose. Don't break things. Don't blame us for outcomes.

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using aravindlabs.tech or any of its subdomains and properties (collectively "the Services"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Services. The Services are operated by Aravind Labs ("we", "us") based in Bengaluru, India.

2. Scope of these Terms

These Terms apply to all current and future Aravind Labs properties, including but not limited to:

• aravindlabs.tech — main studio portfolio
• toolvana.aravindlabs.tech — 196+ free browser tools
• phantom.aravindlabs.tech — open-core CLI tooling (free tier) and Phantom Pro (paid tier)
• vision.aravindlabs.tech — AI vision playground
• Other experimental properties

Where a specific product has its own Terms (e.g., Phantom Pro license terms), those apply in addition to these general Terms.

3. License to use

We grant you a free, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the free Services for personal, educational, and commercial purposes, subject to these Terms.

• You retain full ownership of any files, text, images, or other inputs you provide.
• You retain full ownership of any outputs generated by free tools, subject to third-party model/library licenses.
• Paid services (Phantom Pro) are governed by their separate license terms presented at purchase.

4. Acceptable use

You agree NOT to use the Services to:

• Violate any applicable law (Indian or otherwise).
• Generate, distribute, or store content that is illegal, harmful, harassing, defamatory, fraudulent, or infringes intellectual property.
• Generate child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — this is reported to authorities.
• Attempt to compromise the Services through scraping at high volumes, denial-of-service, code injection, or other malicious means.
• Resell or rebrand the Services as your own.
• Reverse-engineer or modify the Services to remove privacy protections, license checks, or ads.

5. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS-IS" AND "AS-AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION:

• Warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
• Warranties that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.
• Warranties about the accuracy or completeness of generated content (especially AI-generated content, calculator outputs, legal templates, and financial figures).

Specifically: Financial calculators are educational guides — verify with a qualified professional. Legal templates are starting points — consult a lawyer before signing. AI-generated content may contain errors or biases — always review before publishing.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Aravind Labs shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, data, files, business, goodwill — resulting from:

• Your access to or use of (or inability to use) the Services.
• Any errors or omissions in the output.
• Loss of browser-stored data (localStorage, IndexedDB) due to browser bugs or your actions.
• Any third-party content, services, or libraries used by the Services.

Aggregate liability shall not exceed ₹100 (INR one hundred) or the amount you paid us in the prior 12 months — whichever is greater.

7. Third-party content and services

The Services use third-party libraries and APIs (pdf-lib, transformers.js, MediaPipe, Pollinations.ai, NVIDIA NIM, postalpincode.in, Google Input Tools, Razorpay, etc.). These come with their own licenses and terms. We are not responsible for their availability or behavior.

8. Advertising

Some properties display advertising through Google AdSense (only after user consent). Ads are clearly distinguishable from content. We do not endorse advertised products. We are not party to any transaction between you and an advertiser.

9. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any Service at any time. Tools may be added, removed, renamed, or merged. URLs may change with reasonable redirects where possible.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date reflects the most recent version. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage for at least 14 days. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend access to the Services at any time without notice for breach of these Terms. Since most Services do not require accounts, termination is enforced via IP-based blocking when necessary.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Aravind Labs from any claim or demand (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, your violation of third-party rights, or your unlawful use of the Services.

13. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. The Indian Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 apply where relevant.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force.

15. Entire agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Aravind Labs regarding the Services.
