Studio at a glance
Operating principles
- Ship first, polish later. A working v1 beats a perfect v0.
- Production-grade by default. If it's not on the internet with a real domain and a real cert, it doesn't count.
- Privacy is not optional. Toolvana tools run client-side. Phantom doesn't phone home. VisionX inference is on-device.
- Open-core where possible. Free tier visible in the source tree; premium tier earns its keep.
- No VC, no exit. Sustainable solo work, paid by happy users and light ads.
- India-first, world-aware. ₹999 makes sense as a tier here. UPI, GST invoicing, Aadhaar-aware tools.
The stack we ship with
- Frontend: vanilla HTML/CSS/JS for Toolvana (no build step). Next.js + Tailwind for portfolios. React Native for mobile.
- Backend: Python (FastAPI, n8n workflows), Node.js (where it fits), PostgreSQL, Redis.
- AI: NVIDIA NIM (Llama 3.3 70B), Pollinations.ai (free image gen), transformers.js (in-browser models), MediaPipe Tasks Vision, Pyodide.
- Infra: Caddy on a single Indian VPS, Let's Encrypt, n8n for automation, Telegram bots for ops.
- Payments: Razorpay (India + global), SMTP via Postmark, dunning automation.
Who is Aravind?
Software engineer based in Bengaluru, India. Background in full-stack systems, distributed architectures, and AI agent automation. Previously built revenue-generating products for venture-backed companies; now building independently with the same engineering rigor and zero corporate ceremony.
The studio runs as a single-operator practice — every line of code, every server config, every customer email is handled by one person. No team. No outsourcing. No middlemen. This is the trade-off: slower feature releases in exchange for higher per-product quality and direct user contact.
How the studio is funded
- Phantom Pro license sales: ₹999 lifetime, no recurring billing.
- Toolvana ads: Google AdSense on browsing pages only (never on the tool canvas itself), only after user consent.
- Bootstrapped reserves: prior savings cover server costs (~₹2,000/month) and domain renewal (~₹3,000/year).
- No VC, no investors, no debt.
What's coming
- Q2 2026: AdSense approval for aravindlabs.tech and Toolvana. Plausible analytics rollout. Phantom v1.2 with VS Code extension.
- Q3 2026: Toolvana mobile PWA, 50+ new tools, multilingual UI (Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi).
- Q4 2026: VoltX v2 with multi-chain support. ForexBot copy-trading marketplace. Community-contributed tool submissions on Toolvana.
